In 1999, Daniel Bryan, real name Brian Danielson graduated from Aberdeen-Weatherwax High Scholl located in Aberdeen, Washington. He signed a deal devolpment deal later with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) where he was assigned to Memphis Championship Wrestling (MCW). William Regal then helped gain Bryan exposure and also trained the youngster. While at MCW Bryan adobted his well-known moniker "American Dragon". Unfortunetly WWF severed its ties with MCW in 2001 which led to Bryan being released from his contract, he would return to the compnay under new name now World Wrestling Entertainement (WWE) working secondary programming Heat and Velocity, he also lost in a match against future WWE Champion John Cena. Bryan later toured Japan with promotion Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FCW) with fellow trainee Lance Cade.

Known as the "founding father" by the fans Bryan joined Ring Of Honor (ROH) and this is where Danielson's wrestling career really kicked off as a main eventer on the compnaies flag ship show The Era Of Honor. Many say Danielson was the best wrestler in ROH to have no held a major belt. He won Survival Of The Fittest tournament in 2004 but major gold still eluded him. 2005 it was rumoured that Total Nonstop Action Wrestling were interested in Bryan while he was having some try out matches with the WWE but nothing came of it and he continued at ROH.

On September 15th 2005, Danielson defeated James Gibson at Glory By Honor to become ROH World Champion. At the beginning of 2006 Chris Hero a representative from Combat Zone Wrestling (CZA) would invade ROH and attack Danielson which led to a major feud of both companies and also a private feud online with Danielson and Hero. All this resulted in a match at Hell Freezes Over where Bryan would successfully defend his ROH Title. Bryan's fifteen-month title reign finally came to an end when he was defeated bu Homicide, he took some time off wrestling then to heal his shoulder.

In 2007, Danielson returned to the ring where he would defeat both Shane Hagadorn & Adam Pearce in separate matches. Over the coming months Danielson would work with Austin Aries including a pay-per-view match at Take No Prisioners. They would later team up together taking on Age Of Fall where they would have all kind of stiupulation tag team matches against members. By the time ROH's TV debut Aries & Bryan were again competing again each other where Bryan would get the win on his TV debut over Aries. On August 23rd Brian Danielson announced he had signed a deal with the WWE but prior to joining the company he would tour with ROH on The Final Countdown Tour which saw a losing effort against Aries for the title and also seen his last match for the company defeating Nigel Macguiness; who also had his last match for the company.

Danielson made his as a WWE contracted wrestler in a dark match prior to Raw where he defeated Chavo Guerrero. Danielson requested he moved to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) the devoplment territory to work on ring rust. On his FCW debut he defeated Kaval. He was renamed Daniel Bryan at the February tapings, he claimed he had been given a list of 10 teams, Brian Danielson was not on that list. The Miz would be Bryan's storyline mentor on the first season of NXT where he would lose his first match against then World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho by submission. Bryan's first win came in his sixth match when he defeated Santino Marella in a eight on four handicap match on Raw. The following night he was eliminated from the show as neither had the confidence in themselves to win the competition.

As a result of the TV-PG era Bryan was fired from the company when he was deemed to have strangled ring announcer Justin Roberts with his own tie during a segement on June 7th , WWE apologized to him following his release claiming the "had sponsors to deal with". WWE storylined the event on NXT where the rest of the rookies kicked him out never to return again.

On July 17th Danielson would debut in the International Wrestling Association (IWA) where he defeated Q.T Marshall for IWA Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship and he would then go on an undefeated run defeating Bobby Fish along the way. On August 7th Danielson would be unsuccessful in a match against Adam Pearce for the NWA Championship at the NWA Legends Fanfest. A week later Danielson announced that he would be re-signing with the WWE but promised he would most of his independant booking. His last match was against Shelton Benjamin on October 1st at a Northeast Wrestling Event.

Bryan's first apperance back in the WWE was at the pay-per-view Summerslam where was the 7th member of Team WWE in a seven on seven elimination match against Nexus, the other NXT members who kicked him out of their where he eliminated two members but was later eliminated by Wade Barret after The Miz attacked him. This began a feud with The Miz on Raw which led to Bryan defeating Miz at Night Of Champions to become United States Champion. He had success defences of the belt beat Miz & John Morrison in a triple threat submissions count anywhere match at Hell In The Cell and also against Ted DiBiase at Survivor Series. He would appear on the 4th season of NXT as the pro to rookie Darren Bateman. For the coming months while US champion The Bella Twins would accompanie Bryan to the ring and also compete in Mixed Tag matches. On a episode of Raw on March 14th Bryan would lose his US title to Sheamus.

At the annual draft in 2011 Bryan was drafted to Smackdown where he would go on to win Money In The Bank which entitled him to a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at any time where he had a ref present and of course the champion. At the event Tables Ladders & Chairs (TLC) Bryan would cash in his contract on The Big Show after Show defeated Mark Henry at the event. This began an exciting title reign for Bryan where he would attract the interest of AJ Lee but he never had the same love for her as she did for him. She would say "I love you" he wouldn't, one of those relationships. Bryan's first defense came at The Royal Rumble against the two super heavyweights Big Show & Mark Henry and with the odds stacked against him he came out victorious. He would hold the World title right up until WrestleMania where he broke a record for the wrong reason when he lost to Sheamus in 18 seconds, he blamed AJ for this loss. He would continue a feud with Sheamus up until Extreme Rules where he losr in a 2-out-of-3-falls match.

The next night on Raw Bryan earned the right to become number one contender beating Jerry Lawyer in under 3 mins. He would face CM Punk at Over The Limit where he would lose by a controversial decision. He had the Yes lock applied but Punk got the pin fall just before he tapped out. Kane & AJ would get involved in these feud building up to a triple threat match at No Way Out which Punk would win. Next night Bryan earned another title shot defeating Punk & Kane in a triple threat non title match. This would set up a match at Money In The Bank where AJ would be special ref, Punk would again retain his title. Next night on Raw 999 Bryan would propose to AJ with AJ saying Yes they were due to marry on the 1000th episode of Raw. Raw 1000 was one Bryan will want to forget. Bryan's night was to go from good to bad to worse to hilarious. AJ walking down the isle (good). AJ saying no (bad) AJ new GM (worse) The Rock enters (hilarious).

What Does The Future Hold For Daniel Bryan?

He is definitley one of the hottest superstars at the moment. He gets the best pops on Raw & Smackdown and is one of the top performers on the roster, I honestly think Bryan needs to become WWE Champion; he deserves it. Punk & Bryan work so well together in the ring and I would love for Punk to drop the strap to Bryan but with The Rock scheduled to fight the champion at the Royal Rumbe I don't see Bryan being champion this year.

I hope you enjoyed reading my first profile, feed back would be great and maybe suggestions on how to make Wrestling Profiles better are welcomed, thanks Ed023.
