I'm like u ed 007 I remember vaguely watching big daddy n giant haystacks fights but only as a very young boy but probably got more interested early 90,s with lod, demolition, boss man etc.

{Ed007's Note - I can remember in my early teens ITV showed you American wrestling for an hour at about 2 in the morning just before SKY TV took off, then as soon as SKY started showing WWF I would have been watching it.}

{Ed007's Note - That's it! Fit Finlay had a belter of a mullet, the likes of which I've never seen again in my life.}

1990 is when I really started to get into it as a 6 year old. It sounds like a smarky thing to say, but I 'm pretty sure Hogan was the only person I saw that I didn't like. Then again, if you look at all the wrestlers/ characters running around at that time, maybe it's not that surprising?

Between us all here we have decades of memories. I started watching in the late 1980's or early 1990's and remember watching Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper and Money Inc. I started by watching WWF and then added both WCW and ECW to my weekly viewing. I have so many memories but can't pit them in chronological order but my favourite wrestler was Jake Roberts when I was younger.

I must have been about 1990.

I remember my parent buying me Hogan, Jake and Boss Man figures for a very young birthday.

I struggle to work out what I was watching live and watched on home video.

I'd have been around 89/ 90 I suppose. Just before Taker debuted anyway.

Loved Mr Perfect and the Genuis when I was a kid, then Jake, Taker, Bret. Still the Golden era for me.

I was in to WWF before my granddad started taking me to Weston Super Mare to watch the stars of World of Sport.

I saw Big Daddy live, he was a real dick about signing autographs on anything that wasn't a purchased 8x10.

Well. Here goes again. I think mine was either Mick McManus or Vic Faulkner as middlewights on ITV in the late 60's. Would have had to have been around 1967 as we didn't have a telly before that.
Loved McManus, my favourite ever heel. I remember his fights with Jackie Pallo in the 70's which were watched by millions including, apparently, the Queen Mum Gawd Bless Her.

My old boy had one of those big 2 meter satellite dishes that moved around by remote control long before sky was even thought of so he could get Italian tv it picked up eurosport back when it was the only sports station in Europe, on a Friday night they started showing showing stampede wrestling must have been around mid to late eighty's for a ten year old who had watched the odd episode of world of sport stuff and was not impressed this was a whole new world and it was great, I was hooked, I won't bore you with who was in it ( anyone who knows wrestling will know the list of future legends it produced) after that I watched wwf, wcw and wee on every station they went to, sky, bravo, itv, channel 5 and even channel 4 used to show the odd ppv free to air .

I remember Saturday wrestling on ITV and thinking that it was real haha!

{Ed007's Note - Shhhh! I'm that old I remember thinking WWF was real. I used to love sitting watching with my nephews as they were growing up and seeing them really believe it was real. I suppose my old man must have felt the same watching me. I seen most of the old British wrestlers live and my mam will probably still have pictures of me and them from back then.}

My oldest nephew believes that its real and idolizes Sin Cara and John Cena. He's hurt himself a few times doing the moves and my wife tells me to him to be careful which I think is funny as I pulled off a perfect moonsault from a 12 ft astroturf cage onto my mate in builders sand. Needless to say he doesn't know that, but hey that was during the Attitude era and health and safety was in its infancy. In my school we had imaginary titles WWF, IC, Europen, Tag and of course Hardcore with the 24 hour rule haha! My school had its own sports centre so we would set up mats and climb the apparatus to about 20 ft and launch of bodies on to whomever was laid out on top of them.
