Surely not.
Rumours are flying around that there is a Sting/ Taker match in the offing.
Sting is 60 with a more than bad back and Taker is looking older than his 54 years.
This has a Saudi Arabia match written all over it but it is a complete farce.
No lessons learned from the Goldberg/ Taker fiasco.
Sting and Taker are 2 of the all time greats and deserve to be treated as such, not paraded before us so we can watch them physically falling to bits.
I can understand people wanting to say they saw the greats, but the best thing about Taker for quite a few years now has been his eternally awesome ring entrance.
Let them come to the ring to speak a few words and people will go home happy. What will not make true fans happy is seeing these 2 great men so reduced and their legacies being thrown into the bin.
They both deserve so much more.

That was the first RAW I have been bothered to watch for quite a while now, and it wasn't too bad.
I wanted to see if Heyman's influence could be seen and the Strowman/ Lashley match had him written all over it, as did Styles/ Richochet.
I know it is early days and that there is no way that either ECW or the Attitude Era will return.
It also depends how far Vince will allow Heyman to come of the leash, but it does hold some promise.
Let's see how Bischoff manages to do on his first Smackdown now.

Apparently Bischoff isn’t taking over Smackdown till after extreme rules.

2.) 04 Jul 2019 09:21:57
Actually, that has to be the best Raw episode I have watched in months. A really welcome dev from Vince I think.

3.) 04 Jul 2019 12:28:15
That makes sense Red Raw as Smackdown was exactly the same as it always is, decent but no more than that.

4.) 09 Jul 2019 10:17:16
Seems my optimism may have been a tad misplaced. That was one of the worst RAWs I have ever seen.

What is the point in WWE pretending to have 2 different brands in RAW and Smackdown any more?
The stupid wild card appearances seem to mean wall to wall coverage of certain wrestlers and Shane McMahon on both shows while others don't get a look in.
When was the last time Black, Balor, Rusev, Andrade, Gable, Benjamin, Nakamura, Roode etc etc actually had a meaningful match?
After seeing the reaction that Moxley has received since he left and the way Shane McMahon has somehow become a central figure, I can only imagine the number of wrestlers asking to be released.
AEW must be rubbing their hands together in anticipation.

I’ve pretty much given up on Raw and Smackdown, only read the results now, maybe a YouTube clip. I have the network, but that’s only for NXT.
Can’t wait for AEW to start their weekly show, heard it's going to be on itv, which is a bargain for us UK wrestling fans. Once that starts I’ll probably cancel the network and just read results.

I see by the lack of posts recently that everyone seems to be as disillusioned with the WWE as I am.
I haven't seen a RAW for a while and nothing looks like things will improve.
To me, the major problem is that there is just too much WWE available and to fill this, the majority is at best average, but mainly garbage.
No new real stars since the Shield were formed.
Unless they change soon, WWE will drown in the sea of mediocracy that only they are at fault for creating.

Roll on aew is all I say to it.

If it wasn't for nxt i'd stop watching wwe.

Anybody else think that Ambrose isn't leaving? With the comments of Lashley, the involvement of his wife and the way he was left in the wreckage of the announce table, if this wasn't the set up of a new rivalry, it was a complete waste of time.

Well, a petty average PPV with a couple of rubbish matches (Divas was awful and Barrett/Neville was pointless) and some good ones.
I am liking the New Day more and more and Kidd & Cesaro are talented enough to be able to sell the match. New Day are the best heels in the tag team division for a long time. Be interesting to see how they cope at the Elimination Chamber in a cage and no outside interference.
I enjoyed the Sheamus/Ziggler match but this feud has now run it's course. Both will be in the Chamber for the IC belt which Sheamus will win. Heel champ for the IC while Cena holds the US.
Speaking of Cena, another good match with Rusev, but I wish the ref didn't have to stick the mike in to ask if either quit so many times as it interrupted the flow of the match. Of course we will find out Lana translated incorrectly leading to another match that the feud doesn't deserve.
The 4 way was ok and Rollins finishing with the pedigree was genius. What next for each participant? Ambrose, Reigns and Orton have all had protracted feuds with Rollins and need a change. And we are still waiting for the inevitable Kane blow up. I reckon it will be Rollins/Kane at the Chamber.
Rating for Payback? 3.5 out of 5.

I didn't watch it but I have heard that the Taker/ Goldberg match was botched more than once.
I have said it before, but it is incredibly sad watching wrestlers way past their best being wheeled out just so an audience can say they saw them. These 2 have the best ring entrances which is really what people want to see. The wrestling is so piss poor.
It's not just this though. What on earth are they doing with Shane McMahon?
I'm with you on this. Vince is convinced that style will win out over substance and that big names are all people want.
The talent is there, but the direction isn't.

His remarks about Vince just confirmed what a state WWE is currently in.
He is still in total control and he is completely out of touch with what both the fans and the majority of his own wrestlers want to see.
I really think that now Moxley (still feels weird calling him that) has left a flood of other may wish to join him.
Whether they will be allowed to leave is another thing. WWE must have learned from the Monday Night Wars and will not allow that to happen again.
At the very least AEW must surely make WWE look closely inwards at it's own product.
