If u were the owner of the WWE what would u change? Would u have a brand split? Who would be the face and heel of the company?

Wee Cubby

{Ed008's Note - Everytime a question like this comes up I change my mind when it comes to brand split depending how good WWE television is on atm, 1 WWE World Championship IC Title on Raw and bring back the Cruiserweight Championship onto Smackdown with the US Title.

I'd have Ambrose,Bryan,Cesaro,Orton,Reigns,Rollins at the top of the card with the Titles and Main Event programs and if allowed Punk as the No1 Heel of the company if he were to return.

1.) I would sell then go sit on abeach for the rest of my life!
no but seriously I would get rid of the gimmicks, the skits and the FAKE comedy we see every week.
I would make the presentation of Raw a bit more raw to give the feel that anything could happen.
I would get rid of handing scripts to people to learn and give them time to get themselves over.
I would introduce a more sports like feel to the program by after having the match an interviewer, interviews the talent at ringside.
I would get a permanent host and expert panel to discuss what they just saw and the matches ahead.
I would get rid of the third hour.
get rid of steph and HHH (from T. V at least)
I would make everything about the titleS.
I would introduce time limits to the matches.
I would get VERY serious.
I would introduce more rules like not being able to throw someone over the top rope, no diving from the top rope, no closed fist, no piledrivers etc. so then the Heels have rules that they can break to screw the good guys out of a match.
I would bring in fines and suspensions.
I would bring in more loser leaves town matches.
I would get rid of the mats at ringside.
I would bring in more ref stoppages due to knockout.
I would bring in more matches where money is on the line, i. e $500,000 vs the tag title belts. and tournaments where cash is the prize with a trophy.

2.) Some really great ideas there JEPW, I agree with getting rid of the comedy skits, or perhaps confine them to Main Event which could become the TVPG zone for the kids. Also love the idea of making it about titles as this would solve my biggest issue at the moment which is restoring prestige to midcard titles.
I would have the brand spilt again but like it was originally with an undisputed champion who appears on both shows, then have the Intercontinetal and US titles as the top title on each show, give those not gunning for the big belt some tv time and meaningful feuds, use those titles to groom the next set of guys.
I would have Raw and Smackdown TV14, not to have the raunch of the attitude era back, but to make it more grounded in reality, if I was feuding with someone I supposedly hate for whatever reason I'm not going to do some stupid Cena cheese comedy, I'd probably cool him a a*****le and such like. It would also enable the gimmick matches such as Hell in a Cell, Extreme Rules to actually shine how dull are the PG Hell in a cell matches.
I would sack King or have him return to heel commentary, re-hire JR in place of Cole, promote Regal to main colour commentary.
Actually enforce rules, how many times has double teaming gone unpunished.
I would ignore Vince's idea of no more faces or heels, I would have genuine heat seeking heels.
Book longterm, think at least 6 months ahead and map it out write it all way in advance like they do a soap so they know with 100% clarity the direction for each star, feud and title.
More tagteams, build the division up again

There is so much more but I'm probably boring you all now

3.) I agree with you popa on the long term booking, but I think that JR's time has passed, he is over 60 and I am pretty sure he does not want the stress of traveling every week. Many be Kevin Kelly would be the best option.
And I think having a pg rating for a. Program that ends at 11 o'clock at night is a bit silly, but that does not mean we suddenly hit each other with baseball bats with barbed wire on fire.

4.) I think the best thing for a brand split wouldn't be to actually separate them but to make Raw a adult product and Smackdown PG.

Don't make it too obvious, but just more swearing, more aggression in matches, adult themed feuds, and skimpier costumes for the divas on a Monday. Smackdown could be at the level Raw is now, and shown at an earlier time.

Bad guys need to be dirtier, too many of them are actually cooler than their face counter parts.

Finish all angles.

5.) It's not about adult vs children, it's about reality vs fakery.
You can have really fake adult product just tna did early on and in 2010 but that does not mean it will be more effective.
But if you gear your product to be more like a sport I. e get rid of the gimmicks etc, then people will start to see it more seriously and thus will care about the outcome and therefore will pay to see it.

6.) I don't mind WWE half as much as everybody else seems to, I just want to see a little more violence (not weapons or tables or anything) but people looking like they want to hurt the guy they are so say angry with.

anyone agree that its time to start boycotting wwe? its getting beyond a joke with all the silly gimmicks and childish matches and remarks.

John Cena: for instance is just so much of a suck up its unbelievable, with his stupid replys to a serious promo.

Adam Rose: I mean come on really? a man in a bunny costume a banana dancing around with a bloody lollypop.

Hornswoggle: doesn't have to be explained and the wee bull guy aswell.

the real fans are getting ignored in favour of kids gimmicks and stupid dance gimmicks aswell.

no blood, no headshots, no dangerous moves ie piledriver, no crazy hell in a cell matches, no direction every match is easy to predict, every heel can't win clean.

anyone agree? including u ED?

Wee Cubby

{Ed008's Note - Nope theirs more positives then negatives and you've failed to mention them..

1.) 28 Jul 2014 23:33:39
Quick question Wee cubby who did you think would win taker vs lesnar and be honesty because I think most people on this site would agree that the result of that match wasnt easy to predict

2.) The point in making is its only going to get worse. Still is far too predictable. Lesnar vs undertaker never made any sense never seen it coming but yeah ih well lol

3.) Well said Ed, I think on this site we all have a tendancy to focus on the negatives, maybe we should all post what are our favourite aspects of the product right now

4.) I agree with your assessment of the current situation wee but the way to go to fix a problem about belief, because you basically said there is a lot of unbelievable gimmicks, is not to give these gimmicks, gimmicked up weapons that no one will believe in, it is to get rid of the gimmicks and introduce story lines that people can believe, as the best story lines are the ones that people believe in, I. e when CM Punk left with the title, when the NWO came into Nitro and there are many other examples.

5.) Its almost like they are making it for children.

6.) That said when I was a lad they used to have hard hitting serious storylines like a former jail house warden vs a corrupt Mountie.

Can someone explain to me the fuss about Roman Reign? He has no charisma he has less moves than John Cena and always seems nervous cutting a promo, he just can't wrestle, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt are the future.

so what is everyone's take on my view and if u disagree please explain why. ?

Wee Cubby

1.) Crowd seems to get behind him, I think the fact he's from the shield is what a lot of people like myself included. He's young and can improve although it's a bit too early to make him champion

2.) Completely disagree. If you have followed The Shield from the get go then you'd see the huge progress Reigns has made, especially in the ring. That tells me he has a lot of depth in terms of how far he can go. He has the IT factor.

3.) Agree with the op I don't see what all the fuss is and rushing him to the top he was the least talented from the shield in every aspect of a modern day wrestler but hey the crowds love john cena and that's who he reminds me of
Gordy

4.) The WWE like him as he has the right look and can therefore shift merchandise.
They have beeen looking for a loner strongman superstar for some time. Undertaker gone, Ryback's ego meant he couldn't cut it, Bautista has gone (I'm talking pre-the reformed Evolution), HHH of old etc and there is no one else at the moment to fill this role. If it wasn't for his involvement with the Authority, Orton could have done it.
I think they are pushing Reigns for this. I agree his mike work need leaves a lot to be desired but he is still learning the trade.
Give time for him to develop and he could be the answer.

5.) I have said it on here a few times, but there is more to wrestling than chain moves and great selling.

Some peoples favourite may be Hornswoggle and the IWC can't tell them they are wrong.

The vast majority of casual fans and kids seem to like seeing big pumped up dudes running in to each other, drama, intensity, and the bad guy eventually getting toppled by the good guy.

Roman ticks all the boxes, and they are getting behind him, and that's what the fuss is about.

If it was just down to who has the highest work rate and can perform the most moves then your Mania title match could be Tyson Kidd vs Curtis Axle.

If the guy has natural charisma, rapport with the crowd, and the IT factor, they can teach everything else.

6.) But that is what Reigns is missing - charisma. Stone Cold had it, The Rock had it, The Undertaker had it, Michaels had it, HHH had it and each of them could carry the company on their shoulders. Who have we got now? Cena? God help us.

7.) Riegns gets a pop just by picking up the microphone, the fact he only says a sentence at a time ads to him being cool, his voice is like melted butter sliding down greased glass.

If you don't think Roman Riegns has "it", then there is no pleasing you.

8.) Reigns definitely has a cool factor about him but he cannot talk to save himself. He needs to either drastically improve, stop talking or have a mouthpiece. Bruce Blitz had a great idea on one of his reviews but it could never be. It would be epic if Scott Hall could stay on the straight and narrow, Razor Ramon as Reigns mouthpiece would be awesome.

BigBear

9.) Reigns gets a pop because of his image and because of the way he is being pushed, not down to his own talents. He may well develop in the future, but he certainly does not the personality at the moment.

10.) COYS surely if he had no charisma then he wouldn't get a pop no matter how much he was pushed?

I agree there's others with better mic skills, better moves etc but he does seem to have something the crowd can react with

11.) I still don't get what people see in Reigns at the moment. He is rubbish on the mike and his persona is just one that appears to be Razor Ramon lite.
It is not thaat I dislike him and given time he good devlop into a superstar - he is just not close aat the moment.
Both Ambrose & Rollins seem to have taken their characters further.

12.) I say he is currently their most over face and they should push him while the going is good.

With Bryan out, Cena still offending Wrestling purists, and Punk on holiday, I don't blame Riegns at all for forcing his way to the front of the queue.

Remember that guys like Foley, the Rock and Stone Cold were told they didn't have it in their early years.
