Rumour has it that the WWE want to have 3 touring hows in 2016, presumably RAW, Smackdown & either NXT or Main Event.
To make sure there is enough talent to fill these shows, WWE are looking to bring in new talent and to bump up the profile of their existing mid-carders.
I have read, probably like most of you, that they are looking at bringing in the likes of Styles and Morrison.
Also it looks as if they are going to split RAW and Smackdown back into 2 completely separate entities apart from the PPVs.

This would be excellent. They could empty NXT almost & refill it with TNA, ROH, NJPW & Lucha Underground Talent easy. Plus there's some guys out there main roster Ready.

Might be very harmful for indie wrestling if true.

It's a very interesting time in pro wrestling right now, TNA could be completely done in september, Jarrett is trying to launch GFW, ROH and Lucha Underground are getting bigger. NJPW is trying to become more accessible to the western world. WWE is negotiating with WWNLive for some type of partnership that could lead to another developmental territory and/or a talent exchange between NXT and EVOLVE/FIP/SHINE. Like everyone else, the WWE appear to be trying to acquire as much talent as possible. They also seem to be trying to keep other American companies down. That could potentially lead them to do any number of things.

Smackdown is rumored to be going live when it joins RAW on the USA network next year. It's also when NXT is aiming to start touring.

Raw and Smackdown are two touring brands now.

The rosters come together on Monday and Tuesday to film all the tv, but when Raw is working New York, Smackdown is working Brooklyn, this happens 4 nights of most weeks.

I imagine they will just add NXT touring to smaller arenas near by.

They sometimes bike or helicopter the top stars between venues so they can appear at both.

Cena can open a Smackdown live event and main event the Raw one 90 minutes later.
