How about a little debate? The topic, should there be a massive overhaul of the WWE roster?

For me there is a lot of dead weight that beeds to either be cut completely or fixed. Like CM Punk said, does it not make more sense to make moneynwith all the guys instead of just 1 or 2. I agree that there is more talent there now but look at that TLC card and tell me that the majority of it was not poor. Imagine Neville vs Zayn, Cesaro vs Steen, Devitt vs Kenta and Charlotte vs Paige on that card instead of Show vs Rowan, Kane vs Ryback, Bella garbage and Rusev vs Swagless.

I think yes definitely NXT is awesome & the WWE for me is enjoyable but far too many Characters I just can't get over with. Big Show, Swagger, The New Day although I do like Kofi, Goldust unless he's going to start kicking people in the nuts again it's all anyone's ever watched Goldust for, Fandango, Kane, El Matadors, & the big 2 Cena & Lesnar. For the record I no longer watch TNA but seriously what the WWE could have with Guys like Airies, Styles, Roode, Storm, The Dudleys & Hardys back.

I for 1 am really bored with most of them so would welcome change and some of the present roster used better!rusev ryback big show swagger adam rose all consistently used and I have no interest in them would be happy if there where all shown the door for some new faces

The thing that gets to me is that some things do not even need to be changed that much to be better. Look at how over Cody and Goldust were when they were competing for their jobs and the few months after that. Then they start jobbing and Cody gets turned into an even bigger freakshow than his brother and they are still jobbing. The higgest change that is needed is the shackles they put on guys, we all know how much the Rhodes brothers can go when given freedom and time. They are just one example. There was even NXT chants on Raw lol. That show has the potential and talent to be something special but until Vince loosens the grip then it will mostly be trash witht he odd bit of quality.

It's not so much that the current roster is useless. it is that they are so over-used. We have a relatively small roster to fill RAW, Smackdown, Main Event amd the PPVs. The same matches time and time again. Familiarity breeds contempt.
The main shows have far too many 'big men', nearly all of who have no charisma. Big lumbering matches have their place, but not 2 each show.
The main part of NXT's attraction is it's freshness.
Brighten up the roster & increase the pace of the matches and the shows would improve.

Am I the only person who likes Jack swagger lol?

I cany take take to him but there is worse than him on my despise list main 2 being ryback and big show can't stand them boring as hell

{Ed008's Note - Agree with COYS point about the roster being small or the talent not being there to make all 4 shows feel fresh we just had New Day face Goldust & Stardust for like 4 weeks in a row whether it be in singles action or Tag Team with the same outcome.. Creative are lazy when it comes promoting a match for upcoming PPV I like the Promos for Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose and it works for that big fight feel but I was bored by the time New Day fought Goldust & Stardust as the outcome was obvious as their no suggestion that the Heels had even a chance of victory. I like Jack Swagger works well with Zeb Colter and has been involved in some good matches this year but creative can't get it right either when he was a tag team with Cesaro ( should have won the tag titles) or his face turn push to face Rusev. I listen to a post review show on Raw called Straight Shoot check it out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkedbvdrme3gzvgzzFAx7qA they talk wrestling in a smart way great guests they discussed that the veterans Big Show, Kane, Mark Henry all have a role and it's to put over talent just needs to be done the right way etc I liked to see this going forward correctly.
I don't want to see all the top talent at NXT come up together, Devitt, Steen, Zayn etc it wouldn't be right just need fresh feuds, storylines to make it exciting to watch on a regular basis the best matches this year have been feuds we haven't seen before. Bray Wyatt vs Daniel Bryan, The Wyatts vs The Shield, Batista vs Orton vs Daniel Bryan, The Shield vs Evolution, Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins, John Cena vs Seth Rollins I could go on and on.

I still think they would advantage from splitting back into 2 shows. Split the rosters evenly that way we will only see a wrestler once a week. This would also help reduce burn out of some of the stars who are travelling large amounts of miles to try and get to all of the tv tapings as well as the live shows. It also allows for the bigger guys to be spread out a bit more. As long as the push both brands evenly and don't just bury smackdown. They could also draft NXT stars up the night after Wrestlmania when they do the draft. It would be great to see the general manager of RAW and of Smackdown fighting it out over the signature of a certain NXT Star. This would also bring back the excitement of the possibility of someone jumping ship from one brnad to another.

With the current roster, if they split the shows there will be even more repeated matches.
They need to get all the injured back fit and ensure they stay fit. Too much is being demanded of their bodies week after week. Bryan is the prime example of this. He has to put it on the line all the time. When he comes back he will not be able to wrestle like he used to.
Reigns has got injured relatively early in his career, Barrett has had numerous injuries to mention just two. I am sure if Rollins continues putting it on the line the way he is going he is also an injury waiting to happen.
This is why the Cenas, Shows, Rybacks & Kanes of this world who do not use such athletic moves are the backbone of the WWE. They can be guaranteed to be there week after week.

9.) 19 Dec 2014
I disagree COYS. Ryback and Show have both been injured this year and Cena misses every show bar Raw, most weeks because he was starting to gather injuries. Splitting the show would work. You could also begin to make smackdown matter again.

You could split the current roster and then use some of the NXT wrestlers to bulster the rosters. In time the exposure the NXT stars getting from moving up to the main roster would help them make the step up and replace aging people like the Big Show and Mark Henry.

Also bring back the Cruiserweight Title!! So many wrestlers would become relevant again. Tyson Kidd and Sin Cara would finally have something to do. You could bring up Adrian Neville, Kalisto and even Xayn could fit in.

11.) 19 Dec 2014
I firmly believe the answer is more wrestlers, not less wrestling.

Let Raw and Smackdown carry on as is but have 6 feuds going on, make them worth while, and keep all other super stars on live events.

If you need a 6 minute match to fill a segment have Ryback beat Bob Smith from the local fed, is that going to be much less entertaining than having Ryback vs Cesaro for 6 minutes with Ryback pinning another guy trying to get over clean?

Make me miss Cena, Rollins, Ambrose, Bray, Randy, and the like, while anticipating their return.

Randy for example is currently more interesting in his absence (wondering what he will do when he gets back) than he was on screen doing nothing.

Keep NXT separate and they can actually be their own competition.

I think the main roster are insulted by the hype NXT is getting and it will hopefully force them to up their game.

I think what needs to happen is more stables, but strong stables, don't want to bang on about the attitude era but a lot of the reason for success was there was a lot of strong stables, the corporation, DX, the ministry, nation of domination, the brood just of the top of my head & if you had somebody feuding with a stable it opens up more matches en route to a PPV, like when Austin or Rock was feuding with HHH or Vince then they would be facing the likes of xpac, outlaws, kane, bossman ect on a build up, only face there rival in a tag match & would only get limited time with the rival in ring in a tag match to build anticipation for the PPV, nowadays we'll see Randy Orton V Cena for 3 weeks on Raw them at the PPV, it's just lazy an lacks creativity, also I think the major benifit of stables is that you pair mid careers an low enders in with the top stars it adds depth & gives them a chance to shine & develop. Just my personal opinion but it's been proven over the years in WWE & WCW stables do enhance fueds. Also thing they need to keep stables going longer, the wyatts & shield ended far to quickly, although admittedly the shield had worked out well separate.

Bear, sorry about delay in replying - been a touch busy. I still don't think there is enough talent to justify two completely separate shows. RAW will always be the main show and Smackdown seems to be an after-thought (having said that, Smackdown has been better than RAW in recent weeks).
The injuries suffered by Bryan seem caused by him having to do that bit more to make up from his lack of size and strength compared to the majority of the roster. The more athletic wrestlers have to take similar risks and as the word suggests risk more injuries.
