Dave Meltzer apparently thought it was a bad decision to have Cena lose on Smackdown. In my opinion, I thought it was brilliant.

Cena still looked strong by being the first person to kick out of Dirty Deeds in a long time, Ambrose gets a big win to re-affirm his place at the top of the card, and the surprise roll up for the win is debatably the most shocking moment of the year while also potentially being a good steppingstone for the current and future storylines.

I still don't want to see Cena get #16, but at least for the first time in about 12 years they're actually having him in a storyline with substance and layers. If they can keep this up, when the inevitable happens, I might be inclined to at least give him a non-sarcastic golf clap.

I suspect that Cena will still come out on top in the long run.
Cena/ Styles has been more attractive than Ambrose/ Styles.
Letting Ambrose win in the short term means 3 big dogs at the top of Smackdown.

I really hope they give Ambrose and Syles the time and freedom to have a great match next week. They finally quit having Ambrose act like Dude Love trying to be Stone Cold. Now they just need to let him quit wrestling like John Cena trying to be like the Macho Man, and allow him to be the combination of Bret Hart, William Regal, the character of Mickey Knox in Natural Born Killers, and Gene Wilder that he is.

Jables, that's a hell of a description of almost anything. I have always thought (since that very first "nope") that Dean Ambrose was kind of ripping off Health Ledger's Joker. Cool but mental.

I hope that by the time the Royal Rumble comes around they've used Cena to push AJ and Ambrose even higher.

Deep down Cena will always be a big deal, his win loss record doesn't really count for much f him anymore, but it looks great on the cv of the guys who have beat him.

The Joker comparison is definitely understandable. They even basically outright stated it, when he and Cena had the uneasy alliance when they were both going after Rollins after the Shield split. When he was in CZW he still had an anarchistic persona, but he wasn't comedic. He was a lot more like a sexually deviant serial killer. Thus the Mickey Knox comparison. Obviously there are an infinite amount of things he did in CZW that he could never do in WWE, but they could replace the overtly sexual and violent things he did with undertones and the power of suggestion. While letting him have the attitude that he had in CZW.

Cena will get #16 eventually, but the goal should definitely be to have Ambrose and Styles viewed/ treated at least as equals.

I have a sneaky feeling that factors will conspire to mean that Ambrose won't regain the title. I can also see this happening with Rollins and Reigns.
Rumours have been flying around for a while that the Shield will reform, and having the 3 of them being let down and losing dodgy decisions, who else can they trust but their old brotherhood?

I agree it was was the right idea to have Ambrose win. As if Cena needs any wins?!? Dave Meltzer makes the odd decent point but he comes out with some rubbish as well. I can't see them doing a Shield reunion yet. I think the crowd would rubbish on it. Roman is too tainted and even Ambrose has had a few mixed reactions here and there. They should leave it a few years IMO so that the fans can cool their hatred of Reigns. The nostalgia effect will come into play if they leave it a bit longer. There would need to be a really dominant stable for them to go against. It would take 2 years to build up a stable worthy of facing them, IMO.

I really don't get why some people on here and a lot more fans are obsessed with hating Cena and saying he sucks. Honestly this past year or so he really upped his in ring game and isn't pandering to children when he's on the mic. he's looked and made Ambrose and Styles both look strong. But I do think everyone needs to get over the fact that he was shoved down our throats several years ago. That wasnt his fault it was Vince's, when will people learn that you shouldn't hate Cena its Vince who constantly shoves people down our throats that you should hate.

I think the point is that Cena doesn't need the win and Ambrose does. I agree, Cena has been pretty good for a while now. Since the US open challenge matches I've been pretty impressed by his work. there's a few too many false falls and kicking out of finishers in his matches still, but Cena usually puts on good matches and is good on the mic (despite cutting essentially the same promo every time)

The argument against Cena losing too often is it lowers his stock.

There is a air shout that losing to AJ then Ambrose back to back has helped both of them less than if either one had done it alone.

I personally see someone pinning Cena clean as big deal for the guy that does it regardless.
