At one stage Finn Balor was seen as the future of the WWE and his persona of the Demon was only seen on special occasions. A combination of unfortunate injuries, bad booking and a lack of size put pay to Balor.
The idea hasn't gone. Enter Bray Wyatt and the Fiend. With Wyatt facing The Miz as himself at TLC, I suspect that the Balor blue print is back in place, but with a larger and more charismatic model.
Expect to see the Fiend less often.

The current apathy with WWE can be seen everywhere. The empty seats at venues, the falling viewing figures and even the lack of activity on this site. The question is why this apathy exists.
There has never been such an athletic group of wrestlers than now and with the money from the Network and Fox means that the coffers have never been so full before.
But. There has never been such a bland group of wrestlers either. It has now got to the stage where WWE have to alter the negative crowd reaction to the 'Face of the Company' Seth Rollins.
It is so easy to see the Attitude Era through rose tinted glasses, but the crowd reaction to the entrances of those wrestlers from the shattered glass of Austin to those of the Rock, Taker, Michaels, HHH and Edge would have the crowd on their feet immediately. There is nothing comparable in immediate excitement today, nor in the charisma each of these had.
It is no wonder that AEW are so invested in Jericho as he is still everything that the WWE now lacks.
Where is the couldn't care less attitude of Austin, the cockiness of the Rock, the aura of the Undertaker? It is something when the most charismatic character now is not a wrestler but is Paul Heyman.
A lot of the problem now is that the writing is wrestling by numbers and there is nothing new and original.
Take some risks and let the wresters of the leash and who knows. We may get another Auston 3:16 moment.

I suspect that the WWE might have had a bit of luck with the technical failure that stranded half their wrestlers in Saudi last week.
Because? At long last NXT had a stage to shine, and shine they did.
Not only have they now got something different for Survivor Series, but WWE were able to deliver a kick in the teeth to NXT's main rival AEW.
HHH managed to sell NXT as a genuine rival to both RAW and Smackdown and surely the writing team can't mess up this glorious opportunity to shake things up.
You would hope so.

There is justifiable uproar about the terrible end of the Rollins/ Fiend match. But who is really surprised?
The WWE has never really known what to do with Wyatt and Rollins keeps getting backed despite his popularity falling. It was clear last year that Rollins is not capable of being the face of the company.
With the echoes of the boos and AEW chants still ringing in his ears, even Vince must know he messed up.
They have got to stick the title on the Fiend before the next PPV, hope people forget that awful match and ride Wyatt's popularity.
They learnt this the hard way with Bryant and Lynch.

Well, a petty average PPV with a couple of rubbish matches (Divas was awful and Barrett/Neville was pointless) and some good ones.
I am liking the New Day more and more and Kidd & Cesaro are talented enough to be able to sell the match. New Day are the best heels in the tag team division for a long time. Be interesting to see how they cope at the Elimination Chamber in a cage and no outside interference.
I enjoyed the Sheamus/Ziggler match but this feud has now run it's course. Both will be in the Chamber for the IC belt which Sheamus will win. Heel champ for the IC while Cena holds the US.
Speaking of Cena, another good match with Rusev, but I wish the ref didn't have to stick the mike in to ask if either quit so many times as it interrupted the flow of the match. Of course we will find out Lana translated incorrectly leading to another match that the feud doesn't deserve.
The 4 way was ok and Rollins finishing with the pedigree was genius. What next for each participant? Ambrose, Reigns and Orton have all had protracted feuds with Rollins and need a change. And we are still waiting for the inevitable Kane blow up. I reckon it will be Rollins/Kane at the Chamber.
Rating for Payback? 3.5 out of 5.

I suspect they will drag out Bryan and the Fiend until Mania. I also think they will leave the Bayley Banks fall out until Summerslam.
If Rousey makes a come back in the Rumble, she will be in one of the women's matches, probably against Bayley.
Last 2 standing in the Rumble will be McIntyre and Orton and I agree that it is likely to be McIntyre and Lesnar, unless the decide to repeat a match with Valasquez for viewing figures.
Too early to break up the Rollins alliance so I think they will lose to the Vikings at Mania.
I know it is extremely unlikely, but how about a surprise entry in the Rumble - C. M. Punk?

It was a good call and just because it is announced for RAW, it doesn't mean it won't happen at HIAC.
I'm sure it will be inconclusive on RAW and repeated at least one more time.
What is interesting is to see who will be the heels. Bayley is undergoing a heel turn and with Sasha and Charlotte, it is looking a bit unbalanced.
I anticipate a singles match with Lynch against either Bayley or Banks. It will end with aa double team on Becky and Charlotte comes down to make the save leading to a grudging respect and the beginning of a face turn.

Nice to see you again.
Interesting one this. I never really understood why HBK was Mr Wrestlemania when the Undertaker's record blew everyone else out of the water.
I fully agree with you about Bret for Summerslam and then it gets a bit tricky.
I always associate the Rumble with Stone Cold and besides that, I really can't think anyone.
Mind you, I will always link Titus O'Neil with the Greatest Royal Rumble - the best entry to a ring, or under a ring, of all time.

If the WWE want to promote new stables then I can definitely see a Samoan team emerging which would have the when will Joe turn on the others element. Not too easy to see who could logically join Bryan and Rowan as it looks like Harper is on his way out. I suspect the likes of McIntyre might be used once the Shane debacle has finally played out.
A more appealing opposing team may well be the OC with Balor being added. I know they are currently involved with the New Day, but with the wild cards I don't see why they all can't feud with each other.
Heavy Machinery are an interesting one. The Viking Raiders are just as lost at the moment. It may be that a feud between the 2 would sort out both teams problems.
